Driving Tips: Learn How to Drive Safely in an Unsafe World

You need to take important steps if you want to drive safely. Our world is not a safe place to live and if you don’t prepare yourself, you could become a statistic. Driving in the United States has become treacherous. Women are now driving while putting on their makeup. Teenagers are driving while using cell phones, texting and sexting. The phone companies decided this was not enough, so they gave them internet access. Illegal aliens are driving on our roads not knowing or caring about the rules of the road. It is important to learn how to drive safely in an unsafe world.

Stay Calm-Do us all a favor, if you are afraid of driving, please do not drive. It is important to remain calm when you are driving a motor vehicle. You cannot learn how to drive safely until you are calm. Drivers who are afraid of driving are part of the problem. The roads will not be safe if it is filled up with drivers who are afraid of each other. Take a deep breath, say a prayer for safety and drive your best to make the world a safer place. You can overcome your fears of the road by becoming a part of the solution.

Learn The Rules Of The Road-You studied to take your driving test. You passed the test and now you are a driver. If you are not aware of all of the rules of the road, find out the rules for your particular state. In NY State you cannot use your cell phone while driving, In Florida you can. Go to Google and put rules of the road in the search bar. Google will take you to the place where you can find the rules of the road for your state. If you are travelling to another state, check out the rules of the road in that state. Knowing how to drive is just as important as driving. You can drive safer in an unsafe world if you know the rules of the road.

Follow The Rules Of The Road-This one gets a lot of people. Too many people are in a hurry when they drive and they forget to follow the rules of the road. Even pedestrians make this mistake. Too often pedestrians walk down the side or middle of a road that is meant for driving. No, you are not allowed to hit them and they are not worth any points. There are many important rules that are not being followed when people drive their cars. You should not use your cell phone, text or sext while you are driving. You need all of your attention on the road. You should never put on makeup when you are driving. You are already beautiful enough and if you are not, putting on makeup while driving will not help you. Stop signs mean stop. If you do not stop at a stop sign, you could cause an accident, get a ticket, kill somebody or start a bad habit. The same is true when it comes to red lights. Red lights are there to serve a purpose. Many accidents occur because drivers do not have the courtesy to stop at the red light. If everybody followed the rules of the road, it would be much easier to drive in an unsafe world. These are just basic rules. There are many rules of the road that need to be followed by a driver. This is why you need your full attention to drive your car properly. Stopping for a school bus is not optional. For school bus drivers, we know you are in a hurry, but stop signs are also not optional for you.

Pay Attention-Keep your eyes open when you are driving. Anything can happen when you are driving. Not everybody knows or follows the rules of the road. Watch for people who are driving through stop signs and stop lights. It will happen, so you have to be aware of it. If somebody is tailing you, touch your brakes a little to make them aware. Do not slam on your brakes. Keep your eyes open for pedestrians and bikers and animals in and around the road. Being an aware driver can help you drive safely in an unsafe world. It is up to you to pay attention when you are the driver of a vehicle.

Be Courteous To Other Drivers-When somebody cuts you off, don’t get automatic road rage. Take a deep breath and keep driving. If you see a middle finger, wave back with your hand. The other person (most likely) comes from another culture where middle fingers are the same as hand-shakes. Instead of cussing out another driver, pray for him/her. They need it as much as you do. If you want the world to be a safer place to drive, it starts with you. Do not drive too close to another driver. Do not splash a puddle into a bike rider because they are in your way. Do not squeal your tires because you are angry. Keep control of your emotions and treat the other drivers like you want them to treat you. Realize that everybody can have a bad day. If you get in an accident, do not punch the other driver if they are at fault. Being courteous to other drivers can help you drive safely in an unsafe world. There are always going to be drivers who do not care about anybody else, don’t let it be you.

Make Sure Your Vehicle Is Running Correctly-Preventive maintenance is very important when it comes to safe driving. When you get an oil change, let the service technician do a safety check on your car. It is usually a free service that can save you money and hassle in the future. Learn the simple do it yourself maintenance on your own vehicle. Learn how to change a battery, your oil and fluids. Check under your hood once a week to make sure nothing is leaking. Keep your vehicle in tip top shape; it will make your driving experience safer. Check your tires for damage, flats and change them before the tread in completely gone. You don’t want to get on a road, pop your tire and find yourself stuck in a ditch. If something is wrong with your vehicle, get it fixed as soon as possible. A good running can help you drive safely in an unsafe world.

The world is not a safe place anymore. Everybody in America is running around trying to get everything done. They are not always aware that you are in their rear-view mirror. It is your job to be aware of everything around you when you are driving your vehicle. It is your duty to make sure you have a well maintained vehicle. It is your duty to make sure you are calm when you are driving on the roads. It is your duty to make sure you know the rules of the road and follow them. A courteous driver can make the driving experience safer. You can use these tips to learn how to drive safely in an unsafe road. Make sure you are watching for everything because anything can (and will) happen on the roads of the United States of America

How to Create Bootable USB Drive (With Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7)

Introduction

A bootable USB drive is a very handy tool. It allows for much faster install than from cd/dvd drive(personal testing showed about 25% less time to install). You can also use it to install an operating system on a computer with incompatible/no cd/dvd drive such as a netbook.

Personally, I tried installing Windows 7. I run Windows xp on my main partition, but theres no way to upgrade from xp, and for whatever reason during install, the windows 7 installer said I did not have the drivers for my dvd drive. So I set out to find a solution to that, which is what I will be sharing with you.

Getting Started

First, make sure you have a flash drive that is the appropriate size. Most likely this will be at least 4GB for Windows Vista or Windows 7. You can likely fit an XP install on a 1GB flash drive.

Note: This will erase all data on the usb drive. Backup any data you wish to save.

Instructions

Run the command prompt. To do this go to “Start->Run”. Type in “cmd”. Or simply search the start menu for “cmd”.

Formatting the drive (Windows Vista/Windows 7 instructions)

We will be using diskpart.exe to change the properties of the usb drive. This should be included on any Windows Operating System.

Type in the following commands:

diskpart

Comment: The “diskpart” command will open the diskpart.exe command prompt tool.

disk list

Comment: The “disk list” command will list all you main disks. After you run this command, find the number of the usb drive you wish to use. I will call this disk x for future reference.

select disk x

Comment: The “select disk x” (where x is the disk numer obtained from the previous command) command will select your chosen disk. (Example: select disk 2). You will see a message that says your disk is selected.

clean

create partition primary

active

select partition 1

format fs=NTFS

assign

exit

Comment: Run all these commands sequetially. The format command may take a while depending on the size of the drive.

Formatting the Drive in Windows XP (skip to “Make Drive Bootable” if this does not apply to you)

Windows xp has some issues with the above instructions. For whatever reason, many usb drives are not recognized as “disks” with diskpart.exe. Rather they are only “volumes” which can not be set to active primary partitions.

Right click the USB drive in Windows Explorer and click format. Format to NTFS if possible, if not then fat32 is fine.

We will use a special tool that you can download to fix the aformentioned problem. Download MBRWizard.

Go to a command prompt and navigate to the folder that contains mbrwizard.exe using the cd command.

Example:

cd C:\MBRWizard

Now run mbrwizard with the command:

mbrwiz \list

Comment: This will list all disk, including usb drives. Take note of the number of the usb drive you wish to use.

mbrwiz /disk=a /active=a

Comment: a is the number of the usb drive obtained above.

Make Drive Bootable

Insert your CD/DVD or mount your iso containing your bootable Windows install. Open the command prompt again and use the “cd” command to navigate to the Windows install files.

Example:

cd /d F:\boot

Comment: This will change the directory to the drive labeled F and go to the boot folder. Use the appropriate letter for your case.

From the windows install boot folder, use the bootsect command to set the usb drive as bootable. The following example uses G as the drive letter of the usb drive

bootsect /nt60 G:

Comment: G is the letter of the usb drive.

Copy Installer Files

Now copy the entire contents of the windows install disk or iso to the flash drive(not the iso file itself, you will need to mount the iso or extract the files).

Set Bios to Boot from USB Drive

Go to the bios and change the boot order so that you boot from the usb drive first. Save and restart, and you are set! If you do not know how to do this, refer to your motherboard’s documentation.
